In 1947, Mr. Charles Close opened a popcorn and candy store in Watertown, New York. It was located in the Historic Paddock Arcade in Downtown. Incidentally, the Paddock is the oldest continuously operated covered Mall in the USA, but that is another whole story. Mr. Close soon became the most popular man in town with his delicious home-made fudge and popcorn creations. Carmel Popcorn and cheese popcorn soon became the rage along with the standard fare of popcorn. Candy apples among other candy products satisfied the sweet cravings of all. The store was so popular that for almost 30 years, Mr. Close never took a vacation, instead choosing to serve his loyal customers. In 1982 Mr. Close finally retired and the business was taken over by his daughter Janet Lamb-Ennis. She continued the business until 1998 and during that time the business outgrew the original location and was moved to the present location. The business operates today under only its fourth owner and continues to grow and prosper. All the original products are still made with the old fashioned recipes and the home made fudge line has expanded to twelve flavors and flavored popcorn includes Cherry, Blueberry, Cinammon, Green Apple, Grape and Cinnamon Green Apple. Today these products are shipped all over the world in all kinds of decorative boxes and tins, the perfect gift for that someone who is away from home.  Once someone tastes our down home taste, they become a customer over and over. The present owners pledge to continue to provide the same great products and service that began over 50 years ago.
